Massachusetts Audubon Group Visits Cronin Salmon Station
Northeast Region, August 11, 2004
Print Friendly Version
On August 11, ten young adults and two naturalists from Massachusetts Audubon's Moosehill Sanctuary visited the Richard Cronin National Salmon Station in Sunderland and learned about the Atlantic salmon restoration program. Students fed the salmon and learned about the natural world and the relationship between humans and our environment. Tom Ricardi, bird of prey rehabilitator, stopped by and showed the students a live bald eagle, red tail hawk and saw-whet owl. Students also collected aquatic insects and fished in Veterans Pond for a short period of time before heading back to the Audubon sanctuary in Sharon, Mass.
