Senior citizens enjoy day of trout fishing
Southeast Region, June 11, 2004
Print Friendly Version
More than 150 people gathered for Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery's annual Senior's Fishing Rodeo held Friday, June 11. The participants, which ranged in age from 55 to 102, spent the day fishing Rock Creek for the 3000 hatchery stocked rainbow trout. Many of the anglers took home fish weighing well over three pounds. Trout Unlimited grilled and served over 400 hot dogs for the senior anglers. During a prize drawing on the hatchery lawn, participants won items such as fishing gear, hats, t-shirts, gift certificates and fly-fishing rods and reels. Everyone took home a prize. BassPro Shops Outdoor World in Lawrenceville donated many of the prizes, along with local businesses.
