Journal Entry   Back KENAI: Kenai Refuge Cabin Management Plan Completed Alaska Region, May 27, 2004 Print Friendly Version The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Cabin Management Plan and Final Environmental Assessment was approved on May 27, 2004. The Plan provides for increased maintenance of older cabins, increased protection and interpretation of historic structures, relocation and replacement of several debilitated cabins, construction of up to six new public use cabins, and establishment of a new reservation system which will largely replace a first-come first-serve system. Maintenance work on most existing cabins and the construction of three new cabins is expected to be completed this summer. The new reservation system will be operational by next year.
