Journal Entry   Back Senator Warner visits Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge Northeast Region, April 15, 2004 Print Friendly Version Senator John Warner visited the Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge on April 15. The visit was sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, the Eastern Shore of Virginia Land Trust and Ducks Unlimited. Joining the senator on his tour of the refuge and the lower Eastern Shore of Virginia were State Senator Nick Rerras and Northampton County board members Jack White and Thom Dixon. The focus of the visit was to examine the importance of the lower shore to neotropical migrant birds and the need to maintain habitat in this hemispherically-important migration area.
