Volunteers at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge are training to lead professional development workshops. Volunteers Maury Hutelmyer, Ned Connelly and Hank Hox conducted a workshop called Pennsylvania Songbirds in April, and volunteer Margie Gallagher, along with the refuge's environmental education specialist Erika Scarborough, led a wetlands workshop.

By increasing the number of people trained to provide workshops, the refuge hopes to increase the number and variety of workshops available to teachers.
