Hollingsworth Featured at Film Festival Celebrating Refuge System Centennial at Sherburne NWR
Midwest Region, January 29, 2004
Print Friendly Version
The Refuge System Centennial was celebrated at the Wildlife Film Festival at Sherburne NWR on January 15, 22, and 29 by a total of 95 visitors attending a special series of film programs designed to bring awareness to the breadth and beauty of the national refuge system. Karen Hollingsworth was the featured presenter on the first evening. Her spectacular 26 minute multi-media program, ?Let's Go Wild,? highlighted photos taken at national wildlife refuges across America. A question and answer period following the presentation gave further insight into her photographic technique and the love and respect she has for the refuge system. Copies of the ?Smithsonian Book of National Wildlife Refuges,? which features her photos, were available for purchase following the program with Karen available for book signing. Anniversary cake was offered to the full house of 55 people attending the program. On the following two evenings orientation, videos from refuges as far away as Alaska and the Caribbean and as close as Wisconsin and Indiana were viewed. A total of ten refuges were visited with the videos.
