Carterville FRO, with the cooperation of additional partners, plans to further expand the database to include sturgeon tag data from other portions of the Ohio River basin and the Mississippi River basin as well. This database will become a valuable tool for fishery biologists in the Mississippi and Ohio River basins. It contains only tagging and contact information, so sharing of proprietary data will never be an issue. The database will facilitate communication between biologists by providing a simple means through which tagged sturgeon can be identified, and the appropriate person notified of their recapture.
