Job Location and Development (JLD)
Program Under the Job Location and Development (JLD) Program, an institution can use up to 10 percent or $50,000 (whichever is less) of its annual Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program total allocation to expand off-campus job opportunities, including community-service jobs for its currently enrolled students. Jobs may be in either profit or nonprofit settings. Students in this program do not have to meet Federal Work-Study (FWS) criteria, show financial need, or meet other FSA student-aid eligibility criteria. See Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program.Journal
A record of original accounting entries, providing a chronological record of the debit and credit elements of each transaction. As transactions occur, they are entered initially into the journal. At frequent intervals, such as daily, weekly, or at least monthly, the debits and credits recorded in the journal are transferred (posted) to the individual accounts in a ledger.Just-In-Time Payment Method
Under this payment method, a school electronically submits a request for funds up to five days before the actual date of disbursement for the Federal Pell Grant Program. The school’s request includes the date and amount of the disbursement it will make or has made to each student. ED places funds in the school's bank account immediately before the funds are needed to make student disbursements. Unlike schools using the advance payment method, these schools do not receive advance authorization of funds.
