The report shows that despite more than a decade of declines in new HIV infections among injecting drug users (IDUs) in the U.S., risk behaviors among this group remain high.

CDC recently posted questions and answers (Q&As) supporting the recently published surveillance report Cases of HIV Infection and AIDS in the United States and Dependent Areas, 2007.

2008 Compendium of Evidence-based HIV Prevention Interventions (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
In addition to the 49 existing evidence-based interventions, the 2008 Compendium includes eight additional evidence-based behavioral interventions (EBIs) scientifically proven to significantly reduce HIV risk. This brings the total number of EBIs identified and included in the 2008 Compendium to 57.

Drug Images Added to Drug Fact Sheets (AIDSinfo)
The AIDSinfo Drug Database provides fact sheets on HIV/AIDS related drugs. Images of anti-HIV medications were recently added to the drug information fact sheets found in the Drugs section of the Web site.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) publishes a new HIV/AIDS Surveillance Supplemental Report
The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Supplemental Report on Enhanced Perinatal Surveillance—Participating Areas in the United States and Dependent Areas, 2000–2003 is published by the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Clearinghouse has launched.
This new expansion of HUD's Homelessness Resource Exchange (HRE) provides information and resources on the HOPWA program and HIV/AIDS housing.

Indian Health Service HIV/AIDS Program (Indian Health Service, HHS)
The IHS's collaborative HIV/AIDS program works to provide prevention and treatment services to the American Indian/Alaska Native community. IHS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to continue open communications and collaborate to raise awareness and mutually augment efforts with the Native Capacity Building Assistance Network (CBA). This partnership demonstrates mobilization of both the Native community and IHS for HIV prevention efforts.

Drug Dosing Toolkit (Veterans Administration)
Provides information about therapeutic drug dosing schedules, side effects and tips on taking medications. This resource is organized by drug name and includes both the brand name and generic name for most drugs.

Ryan White Program (Health Resources and Services Administration)
Funds services for low-income, under served populations through an array of State and local grants and special initiatives. The Ryan White Program is administered by the HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB).

HHS RSS Library
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provides a wide range of information and service that are available through Real Simple Syndication (RSS), an easy way to have news and updates delivered automatically to your computer.

National Prevention Information Network (NPIN)
A reference, referral and distribution service for HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and tuberculosis (TB) information from the CDC. NPIN is a service for organizations and people working in these disease fields in international, national, state, and local settings.
