Trails West is one of the largest event in Northwest Missouri; rated in the top three by the Missouri Arts Council. The festivities include three days of fine art, folk art, dramatic stage performances, reenactments, musical entertainment and food for the whole family. This event celebrates the starting points of the Santa Fe Trail, the California Trail and the Oregon Trail. This long established festival will celebrate its 37th year over Labor Day weekend. Celebrate Harry S Truman’s 125th birthday along with the 50th anniversary of his birthplace being designated as a state historic site. The day includes bingo, children’s games, a Harry and Bess look-a-like contest, a Harry S Truman impersonator and a big-band performance. The staff will be dressed in period costume. Birthday cake will be served. There will be a special presentation at the historic site, as well as several activities throughout the day, including a parade.
