Subject: Notice of Establishment of Negotiated Rulemaking Committees

Within the next several days, we will publish a Notice in the Federal Register announcing our intention to establish five negotiated rulemaking committees to prepare proposed regulations to implement changes made to the Higher Education Act by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110-315) (HEOA). That Notice will also request nominations for individual negotiators to serve on these committees. The deadline for submission of nominations is January 23, 2009.

We have attached to this Electronic Announcement, in PDF format, a copy of the Notice that will be published in the Federal Register.
