Subject: Issue Alert: Unsubmitted Web Applications Saved Prior to April 19, 2009 Not Accessible

Federal Student Aid has discovered an issue on the FAFSA on the Web and FAA Access to CPS Online Web sites that is preventing students and financial aid administrators from restoring applications and corrections that were saved, but not submitted to the Central Processing System (CPS), prior to April 19, 2009. This issue was introduced into the Web environment on Sunday, April 19, 2009, when we performed a code upgrade to our Web applications.

We are working to correct our systems and will implement a fix to this issue at 6:00 P.M. (ET) today, April 21, 2009.

Once the issue is resolved at 6:00 P.M. (ET) today, users will once again be able to access saved application and correction records and submit them.

If you or an applicant must submit an application or correction before 6 P.M. (ET) today, and that application or correction was saved prior to April 19, 2009, you or the applicant will need to complete a new application or correction and submit it. Otherwise, you or the applicant can access the application or correction after 6 P.M. (ET) today and submit it.

We ask that you make allowances for students who miss any key financial aid deadlines because of this issue.

A message has been added to 800/4-FEDAID (800/433-3243) to alert callers to the issue.
