Subject: 2009-2010 Summary of Changes for the Application Processing System Guide

Federal Student Aid is pleased to announce the posting of the 2009-2010 Summary of Changes for the Application Processing System guide. This guide provides information about changes and enhancements made to the application processing system for 2009-2010, including the following topics:

  • Major changes to the 2009-2010 application processing system
  • Schedule for 2009-2010
  • 2009-2010 paper FAFSA
  • 2009-2010 Central Processing System (CPS), including database matches, edits, Student Aid Reports (SARs), Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs), and other notable changes

Note: The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA), P.L. 110-315, was enacted on August 14, 2008, and reauthorizes the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA). Information about the HEOA can be found at http://www.ed.gov/heoa. Policy and operational guidance can also be found on the IFAP Web site (ifap.ed.gov). Watch these Web sites for details about the steps we are taking to implement the HEOA for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 award years.
