SPECIAL NOTE: In November 2007, Ward's Automotive Reports reclassified the Dodge Magnum as an automobile; previously, it had been classified as a light truck. This reclassification was made retroactive to the introduction date of the vehicle in May 2004 and is reflected in Ward’s historical data on monthly sales, production, and inventories. To maintain consistency of the estimates of both automobile and light-truck output in the national income and product accounts (NIPAs), BEA is not reclassifying the vehicle until the next comprehensive revision of the NIPAs, which is scheduled for release in July 2009.
