The minority colleges and universities program includes Historically
Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI),
and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU). OSBP promotes efforts to increase
the involvement of such institutions in the Department's programs, including
procurement; develops departmental policy and guidelines; establishes program
plans; and monitors and reports on results achieved.
The
Hispanic
Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) works toward improving the
quality of post-secondary educational opportunities for Hispanic students while
meeting the needs of business and government industries through the development
and sharing of resources, information, and expertise.
The
National
Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) is the
national umbrella and public policy advocacy organization for 116 of the
nation's historically and predominantly Black colleges and universities
The
American
Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) is a cooperatively sponsored
effort on the part of 31 member institutions in the United States and Canada
that promotes accessibility of educational programs for Native Americans and
Alaska Natives.
