Courtroom Etiquette / IJ Preference

 

This is a federal courtroom. There will be no reading of newspapers, books, etc. in the courtroom. There will not be any talking, eating or drinking in the courtroom while court is in session.

There will be no communication with any of the detainees at any time unless you obtain permission from the Sheriff Deputies first.

Appropriate attire should be worn. No shorts, or sleeveless blouses may be worn in the courtroom. Skirts and dresses should be no shorter that three inches above the knee.

Children will be accompanied by an adult at all times. Since court is in session, children should sit quietly with their parents in the waiting area. Parents should not allow their children to run up and down the hallway, playing or yelling.
