RE: Tip of the Week - Pell Grant Cost of Attendance Field

This week's tip highlighting a specific feature or process in the EDExpress software: Pell
Grant Cost of Attendance Field

Function/Process: On the last page of the FAFSA tab in EDExpress is a field titled "Pell
Grant Cost of Attendance." This field will be populated with a zero unless you define a
different default amount via Tools/Setup/App Express/System/Default Cost of
Attendance, or manually change the value on the last page of the FAFSA tab.

Why you should use it: This field will calculate the estimated Pell Grant award when you
print the FAFSA record and select "Show ENAS Calculations." If you do not define a
default value in EDExpress setup, or do not manually change the Pell Grant Cost of
Attendance field to a value other than zero, the estimated Pell Grant award will display
zero while the EFC displayed shows the student to be eligible.
