ICE seizes 1,000 pounds of marijuana from Tucson home
Evidence found at scene indicates large-scale trafficking
TUCSON, Ariz. - Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) discovered more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana at a house on East Weymouth Street in Tucson yesterday evening.
The agents were serving a federal search warrant with assistance from the Pima County Sheriff's Office when they turned up the drugs, several transaction ledgers, shrink-wrap, digital scales, and a hydraulic press. ICE agents sought the search warrant after obtaining information from neighbors concerned about suspicious activity at the residence.
Although the house was empty when the warrant was served, ICE is continuing the investigation based on good leads found at the scene. Anyone having information related to this ongoing investigation is asked to call the Tucson ICE office at (520) 229-5100.
