Subject: Demonstration Recordings - Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals Release 2.1 Demonstration Sessions

Summary: This letter announces the availability of Federal Student Aid's Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals (eCDR Appeals) Release 2.1 demonstration sessions.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce the availability of three recorded Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals (eCDR Appeals) demonstration sessions. We have refreshed these demonstrations, as necessary, to reflect our implementation of eCDR Appeals Release 2.1 on February 9, 2009.

We recorded the eCDR Appeals demonstration sessions via Microsoft Office Live Meeting. We list each demonstration and provide its link below.

User Registration Demonstration Session

The following demonstration provides information on user registration for eCDR Appeals:

The following demonstration provides information on data manager user instructions for responding to IDC cases:

Notes:

  1. To view a demonstration session, it is not necessary for a user to enter a Recording Key. The user must simply enter his or her name and then click on the View Recording button.

  2. There are two versions of each demonstration session available for streaming or downloading. If a user wishes to view the Microsoft Office Live Meeting Replay version, he or she should install the Replay Wrapper available on the site.

  3. The instructions that data managers use to respond to IDC cases have not changed; however, in eCDR Appeals Release 2.1, we updated the screens and added a new report. While users of the Data Manager IDC Instructions demonstration session will not see these updates reflected in the demonstration, detailed information about Release 2.1 IDC functionality is available in the Incorrect Data Challenge (IDC) User Guide.

If you have questions about the eCDR Appeals application or demonstration sessions, contact us by e-mailing fsa.schools.default.management@ed.gov or by calling the Portfolio Performance Division (formerly Default Prevention and Management) Hotline at 202/377-4259.

Sincerely,

Sybil Phillips
