ALLIANCE ANNUAL REPORT Rocky Mountain Education Center (RMEC) Region VIII (April 7, 2005) |

I. Alliance Background Date Signed April 7, 2004 Overview The purpose of this alliance was to provide RMEC members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to work related injuries by addressing safety training issues at the vocational education level. Implementation Team Meetings May 27, 2004 First planning meeting. November 24, 2004 Second planning meeting. Held at OSHA Regional Office December 9, 2004 Meeting involving RMEC and CCER. Held at CCER corporate offices April 5, 2005 Third planning meeting. Held at RMEC (Included Ed Prevatt of NCCER by teleconference). III. Events and Products Training and Education
With the exception of a pilot training class held for Career and Technical Educations (CTE) instructors with the St. Vrain School District (see table below), the main thrust of the first year of this Alliance has been to lay the groundwork for expansion of CTE training/credentialing throughout the Region and nationwide by 4 primary means:

Upcoming Milestones First Quarter - Meet with Dr. Darryl Green, Director of the Curricula Review Group for Vocational Education in Colorado July 16th and 17th - Rollout RMEC/CCER partnership at national CCER Master Educators conference in Florida Ongoing - Promote this training opportunity among school districts throughout Region VIII |
