  • Seek opportunities to speak, exhibit, or appear at conferences, local meetings, or other events including the annual North Dakota Safety and Health Conference sponsored by the North Dakota Safety Council.

  • Promote and encourage ECCS members’ and contractors participation in OSHA’s cooperative programs such as compliance assistance, the Voluntary Protection Program, Consultation, and SHARP.
OSHA and ECCS will work together to achieve the following goals related to promoting the national dialogue on workplace safety and health:
  • Raising awareness through speeches and appearances by trying to raise others’ awareness of and demonstrate their own commitment to workplace safety and health whenever ECCS leaders address groups.

  • Share information on best practices, as jointly determined by OSHA and ECCS of ECCS’s members/worksites with others in the industry through outreach and through OSHA or ECCS’s developed training programs and materials. IV. Results

The value to OSHA of standardized workplace safety practices, training and drug screening of energy industry contractor employees is immeasurable. The culture that is fostered results in a higher level of awareness and understanding of the value of safety. Through the alliance, we are able to influence many more employers/employees than through traditional methods. Through the alliance, we are also able to leverage resources within the construction community.

Type of Activity (Conference, Training, Print and Electronic Distribution, etc.) Number of Individuals Reached or Trained
OSHA 10-hour for Construction 420
e-newsletter 690
TOTAL 1110

V. Upcoming Milestones

Annual review of the Alliance with implementation team (2-year alliance).

This alliance expires on June 4th, 2005 with no anticipation of renewal. Funding (via a Workforce Safety & Insurance grant) for the 10-hour OSHA training has been discontinued therefore OSHA’s involvement eliminated.
