ALLIANCE ANNUAL REPORT Occupational Safety and Health Administration St. Louis Area Office and Manos Unidas September 9, 2004 – September 9, 2005 |

I. Alliance Background The purpose of this alliance agreement is to provide Manos Unidas members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employee's health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing occupational injury and illnesses to Hispanic Workers. OSHA and Manos Unidas will work together to achieve the following training and education goals:

Events and Products The St. Louis Area Office has provided information about 11c rights and responsibilities following inquiries from representatives about potential discrimination actions for an employee who had filed an OSHA complaint. The St. Louis Area Office provided information to representatives from the organization about inspection procedures and rights and responsibilities following an inquiry from the organization. The St. Louis Area Office has contacted the organization in an effort to try to formalize a regularly scheduled meeting to ensure dissemination of information to the Hispanic community. The organization is currently in the process of providing a list of upcoming events. The St. Louis Area Office has contacted the organization in an effort to co-host a seminar to provide the information necessary to the Hispanic business community. The St. Louis Area Office will continue to support the training efforts and information needs of Manos Unidas as requested. III. Upcoming Milestones. A seminar for Hispanic businesses is planned for FY 2006. The date and meeting facility is currently being discussed and is hoped to be finalized in the near future. |
