AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND THE OKLAHOMA STATE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND THE OKLAHOMA SAFETY COUNCIL |
|||||||||
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and The Oklahoma State Department of Labor recognize the importance of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster an awareness of occupational safety and health among youth workers in Oklahoma. In developing this Alliance, OSHA and the Oklahoma Department of Labor acknowledge the importance of introducing youth workers to the concept of working safely as they enter the workforce. OSHA and the Oklahoma State Department of Labor hereby form an Alliance to provide youth workers and the educational system in Oklahoma with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of youth workers, especially against slips, trips and fall hazards. Through this Alliance, the Signatories aim to increase awareness of workplace hazards so as to prevent occupational injuries, illnesses or fatalities among the youth of this State. In developing this Alliance OSHA recognizes that its Consultation Project partner at the Oklahoma State Department of Labor is an integral part of the OSHA national effort. OSHA and the Oklahoma Department of Labor will work together to achieve the following outreach and communication goals:
An implementation team made up of representatives of both organizations will meet to develop a plan of action, determine working procedures, and identify the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet at least quarterly to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. Team members will include representatives of OSHA’s Oklahoma City Area Office and the Oklahoma State Department of Labor’s OSHA Consultation Division. This agreement will remain in effect for two years. Signatories may terminate this agreement for any reason at any time provided they give 30 days written notice. This agreement may be modified at any time with the concurrence of signatories.
