- Alliance Background: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA), Safe State, and the Alabama State Building and Construction Trades Council (ASBCTC)
recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more
healthful American workplaces. OSHA, Safe State, and the ASBCTC hereby form an Alliance to
provide ASBCTC members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources
that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing
exposure to falls resulting from the use of aerial lifts and scaffolding, as well as other
prevalent construction industry hazards.

Overview: This alliance was formed between the participating agencies and Occupational Safety and
Health Administration (OSHA) with the purpose of promoting safe and healthful working conditions for
ASBCTC members in the state of Alabama.
