IV. Results

Although antidotal in nature, results of our Alliance activities are as follows:
  • Although this renewed Alliance has only resulted in several meetings and no training or outreach sessions conducted as a group – individually some of the representing companies have taken steps to form safety and health committees and to have those committees certified in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Representatives from the participating companies have expressed that the information discussed and shared at the "Alliance" meetings have been extremely informative and educational. Several of the topics discussed have become topics that the company’s safety committee has taken the initiative to discuss at their own meetings to educate their own employees and to expand their programs.
  • Again, at the beginning of this "Alliance", member employers had been somewhat hesitant to approach OSHA to discuss their safety and health issues. Now, employers have indicated they are much more willing to talk with us and to call the local Area Office with questions to discuss various safety and health issues as they pertain to their respective facilities and/or site programs.
