AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION’S MANHATTAN AREA OFFICE THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR DIVISION OF SAFETY AND HEALTH ON-SITE CONSULTATION PROGRAM AND THE MANHATTAN HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE |

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and The Latin American Workers Project, Inc. (LAWP) recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safe and more healthful workplaces. OSHA and LAWP hereby form an Alliance to provide LAWP members and others with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help protect the health and safety of Hispanic day laborers, who are not proficient in the English language from construction industry hazards such as falls from heights, electrical, struck by, caught in between and excavations. OSHA and LAWP will work together to achieve the following training and education goal:
An implementation team made up of representatives of both organizations will meet to develop a plan of action and identify roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, they will meet quarterly to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance. This agreement will remain in effect for two years. Any signatory may terminate it for any reason at any time, provided they give 30 days written notice. This agreement may be modified at any time with the concurrence of all signatories. SIGNATORIES
