ADDENDUM TO THE AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR REGION I AND THE LABOR-MANAGEMENT CONSTRUCTION SAFETY ALLIANCE AND THE MASSACHUSETTS DIVISION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY – CONSULTATION PROGRAM
The Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety, Consultation Program (MDOS-CP) joins with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Labor-Management Construction Safety Alliance (CSA) in recognizing the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to advance safety and more healthful American workplaces. MDOS-CP therefore agrees to join the OSHA and CSA Alliance for the purpose of using their collective expertise to provide construction industry employers and employees with information, guidance, and access to educational resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to hazards in the construction industry such as electrical, falls, struck-by, caught-in-between, excavation, confined spaces, and crane hazards. MDOS-CP agrees to all of the provisions of the original Alliance OSHA and CSA signed on December 10, 2003. In amending this Alliance, OSHA and CSA recognize that consultation project partners are an integral part of the OSHA national effort. OSHA’s Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary, cooperative relationship with OSHA for purposes such as training and education, outreach and communication, and promoting a national dialogue on workplace safety and health. These Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both OSHA and its Alliance participants. By entering into an Alliance with a party, OSHA is not endorsing any of that party’s products or services; nor does the Agency enter into an Alliance with the purpose of promoting a particular party’s products or services. An implementation team made up of representatives of all of the organizations will meet to develop a revised plan of action, update working procedures, and redefine the roles and responsibilities of the participants. In addition, the team will continue to meet at least quarterly to track and share information on activities and results in achieving the goals of the Alliance.     MARTHE B.
