10 Things Your Supermarket Won't Tell You![]() Windows 7 Preview Getting RavesA number of early reviews of the beta test version of the next edition of Windows, Windows 7, have been very positive. Apparently it does not require an even more powerful computer, it is far less sluggish than the reviled Windows Vista, and it has gotten rid of some annoyances that drove Vista users crazy like endless warnings. Here is the WSJ tech reporter Walt Mossberg and his review. And for a second opinion, here is the review from David Pogue of the NY Times.Company Paid for Positive Reviews on AmazonWhen offering shopping advice, MrConsumer usually suggests that buyers check the product reviews written by real owners of those products that are published after most product descriptions on Amazon.com. An enterprising blogger from the Daily Background, however, discovered that you might not be able to trust the reviews of Belkin products (electronics, cables, etc.). Why? Apparently an employee of Belkin had posted repeated invitations online to pay people to write positive reviews of Belkin products if they awarded the products five stars (the highest rating). Belkin apologized when the report came out, claimed they were unaware of the breach of ethics, and immediately took steps to withdraw the phony ratings and reviews.![]()
