Minor corrections to estimates from the comprehensive revision

BEA staff have identified small errors in estimates that have been released. These errors, listed below, have been corrected in subsequent updates to the tables.

February 27, 2004 - Motor vehicle estimates were corrected. For table 7.2.6B, corrected annual estimates for 2003 were posted for change in private inventories for trucks (lines 37-39, 41, and 42). For tables 7.2.1B and 7.2.3B, corrected estimates for the fourth quarter of 2003 and the year 2003 were posted for auto imports (line 29 in both tables). Incorrect values had been posted earlier in the day.

February 24, 2004 - Corrected estimates for the third quarter of 2003 for addenda lines 30, 32, 33, and 36 in table 3.1 (government receipts and expenditures) were posted. In addition, incorrect annual estimates for 2003 were removed; corrected estimates will be provided with the “preliminary” estimate of fourth-quarter GDP.

February 23, 2004 - Corrected estimates for several lines in the underlying detail Table 7.2.4U (price indexes for motor vehicle output) were posted at 11:00 am on February 23. (The estimates available on the interactive site from Friday, February 20, at 6:30 PM through Saturday, February 21, at 6:30 AM, were in error; fixed-weighted—rather than chain-weighted—price indexes were shown.)

Feb. 13, 2004 - In table 2.6, minor corrections have been made to government wages and salaries, which affected lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 19, 24, 26, 27 and 28 for months during 1978-80.

Feb. 5, 2004 - Corrections have been posted for tables 3.10.1, 3.10.3, 3.10.4, 2.6, and 7.4.5. In tables 3.10.1, 3.10.3, and 3.10.4, line 4 in these tables "compensation of general government employees" had previously shown incorrect values. In table 2.6, line 4 "private industries" had previously shown incorrect values for 2001. In table 7.4.5, line 19 "current transfer payments" had previously shown correct values, but the incorrect sign.
