The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is developing a new resource management plan (RMP) for public lands and mineral estates in northcentral Montana.  The plan, known as the HiLine (formerly Malta) Resource Management Plan, will provide future direction for 2.5 million surface acres and 3.5 million subsurface acres.  An environmental impact statement (EIS) is also being prepared as part of the planning process.

The purpose of the plan is to establish guidance, objectives, policies, and management actions for public lands administered by the Malta Field Office and the Glasgow and Havre Field Stations.

An integral component of the HiLine RMP process is public involvement.   Throughout the project, stakeholders and residents will have opportunities to participate and share their insights and comments.

This website is your source of information for participating in the planning process.  Here you will find the latest information on the development of the RMP/EIS, including background documents, maps, meeting announcements, published bulletins, and other documents.
