This segment of the 3,100-mile trail, which runs from Mexico to Canada, crawls through the Centennial Mountains from Monida to Red Rock Pass. The trail passes through some of the most scenic country in southwestern Montana.

Location/Access: Trailheads are located at Tipton-Winslow, Nemesis Mountain, and Red Rock Pass on the Montana side of the mountains.
Fees: None.
Season/Hours: Trailheads are accessible for hiking only during the summer months. Backcountry skiing can be excellent in the east end of the mountains although access is difficult.
Maps: BLM maps Lima and Hebgen Lake cover the Centennial Mountains. Topographic maps are recommended for hikers and skiers.
