U.S.-China Commission Announces Two Field Investigations.

The second field investigation will be held on February 12, 2004, in San Diego, California to examine China as an Emerging Regional and Technology Power: Implications for U.S. Economic and Security Interests. This investigation will examine U.S.-China trade on high-tech goods and services and the implications for the U.S. and the Pacific region science and technology community. In particular, the Commission seeks to gain a better understanding of the shift of high-tech production to China and China’s compliance with intellectual property rights agreements.

What: Commission Public Hearing on “China as an Emerging Regional and Technology Power: Implications for Economic and Security Interests.”

When: Thursday, February 12, 2004 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
