BLM Begins Public Scoping for South Nucla Gas Field
MONTROSE, Colo. — The Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office, is seeking input regarding a proposal by Redwine Resources, Inc. to fully develop the South Nucla Gas Field in Montrose County, six miles east of the town of Nucla.
The proposal includes the development of 20 natural gas wells on up to 10 well pads. Six pads would be on BLM surface land and 4 would be on private surface land. Access roads and co-located, gas-gathering pipelines would cross BLM and private surface lands. A production facility, including gas processing and compression equipment, would be located on private surface land and a 6.8 mile-long pipeline would be built on BLM and private lands.
The field is within the 31,933 acre South Nucla Federal Exploratory Unit in Mailbox Park. Federal mineral leases, which make up the South Nucla Unit, were auctioned at previous federal oil and gas lease sales. Approximately 87 percent of the mineral estate within the South Nucla Unit is federal mineral estate managed by the BLM. No U.S. Forest lands will be disturbed in the proposed gas field development

If you wish to withhold your name or street address from public review or from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, you must state this prominently at the beginning of your written comments. Such requests will be honored to the extent allowed by law. All submissions from organizations and businesses, and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives or officials of organizations or businesses, will be available for public inspection in their entirety.
