The Livestock Issues Research Unit(LIRU) is located North of Lubbock, Texas. Researchers within this unit determine livestock related stress by studying physiological and behavioral responses. Connections between livestock stress and human preharvest food safety are studied so that management practices and alternative production systems reduce animal pathogens prior to processing. |
