EDGAR Form TA-W XML Technical Specification (Version 1.2.0)

The EDGARLite application aids filers in creating and submitting XML-encoded submissions. The first series of forms to be implemented using this application are Transfer Agent forms TA-1, TA-2, and TA-W (and their respective amendments). For details regarding use of the EDGARLite application, please refer to the EDGAR Filer Manual (Volume II) EDGAR Filing.

For filers interested in creating Transfer Agent XML forms without using the EDGARLite tool, the SEC provides XML Technical Specifications: EDGAR Form TA-1 XML Technical Specification (Version 3.2.0), EDGAR Form TA-2 XML Technical Specification (Version 5.2.0), and EDGAR Form TA-W XML Technical Specification (Version 1.2.0). These specifications include documents giving general descriptions and instructions about the XML file being created, the schema files containing the taxonomy that must be used, and stylesheets. Please review the EDGAR Filer Manual (Volumes I, II) for information regarding Transfer Agent forms before you begin.

On December 15, 2008, EDGAR was upgraded to Release 9.14 which implemented changes to Form TA-2. Those changes are described below.

Modifications for Form TA-2

EDGAR Release 9.14 introduced the following changes to the EDGARLite TA-2 Submission Template:

  • The FormTA-2.xsn file was been updated to include the "Office of Thrift Supervision" value in the dropdown list for Question 3(a) (Registrants Appropriate Regulatory Agency).
     
  • The FormTA-2.xsn file version was been updated to 5.2.0 as a result of the modifications outlined above.
     
  • The schema for TA-2 form was updated to allow for the value of "OTS" to be input as a valid value for the <regulatoryAgency> element.
     
  • The formTA-2Submission.xsd schema file was been updated as a result of the modifications outlined above, and the schema version has been updated to X0502.

Modifications for Form TA-W

EDGAR Release 9.14 introduced the following changes to the EDGARLite TA-W Submission Template:

  • The FormTA-W.xsn file was been updated to the correct OMB Date of July 30, 2011.
     
  • The FormTA-W.xsn file version was been updated to 1.2.0 as a result of the modifications outlined above.
     
  • The formTA-WSubmission.xsd schema file was been updated as a result of the modifications outlined above, and the schema version has been updated to X0102.

On March 16, 2009, EDGAR was upgraded to Release 9.15.1 which implemented changes to Form TA-1. Those changes are described below.

Modifications for Form TA-1

EDGAR Release 9.15.1 introduces the following changes to the EDGARLite TA-1 Submission Template:

  • The FormTA-1.xsn file has been updated to include the "Office of Thrift Supervision" value as an option for Question 2 (Appropriate regulatory agency).

  • The XML style sheet for Form TA-1 (TA-_X02.xsl) has been modified to display "Office of Thrift Supervision” as an option for Question (appropriate regulatory agency).

  • Update Table 3-3: Form TA-1 Schema Definitions
