Spatial Data Information: GIS Coverages

For a list of downloadable coverages and metadata in the Cook Inlet Basin, please visit http://agdc.usgs.gov/data/usgs/water/nawqa.html. These coverages are housed by Alaska Geospatial Data Clearinghouse.

By February 1999, the following GIS coverages were created for the Cook Inlet Basin:

• Cook Inlet NAWQA study sites:  

  • Fixed

  • Additional fixed

  • Bed sediment and tissue

  • Intensive and fixed

• Ecoregions

• Federal land ownership

• Geology

• Hydrologic units

• Hydrology (streams, lakes, glaciers)

• Land cover

• Land use:

  • Chester Creek watershed

  • South Fork Campbell Creek watershed

• Logged areas of lower Kenai Peninsula

• National Park boundaries

• Permafrost

• Physiography

• Precipitation regions

• Stream-gaging stations with more than 10 years of record

• Watersheds

  • Kenai River

  • Deshka River

  • Ninilchik River

  • Lake Clark

• Wetlands
