Celebrated since 1985 the first Monday through Sunday in May, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees and ensure that our government is the best in the world.

National Mall Celebration
The capstone celebration is held every year on the National Mall, with more than 100 government offices and agencies, nonprofit organizations and private companies sponsoring interactive and educational exhibits that showcase the innovative and quality work performed by public employees. This year, the Partnership and the Public Employees Roundtable will host the National Mall event May 7-10, 2009.

Highlights of the Mall event include:

Opening Ceremony: Thurday, May 7, 10 am
Opening ceremony for our 25th annual PSRW celebration will feature a naturalization ceremony conducted by US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Students Day: Friday, May 8, 10:30 am
NASA astronaut Paul Richards and Thomas Skelly of the Department of Education will help kick-off Students Day on day two of the PSRW Mall event.

Family Day: Saturday, May 9, 10 am - 5 pm
Bring your family to the mall to see a performance from the U.S. Air Force Rock Band Max Impact, among many other featured performances and demonstrations.
