"ICE Most Wanted" fugitive Luis Pena Pena placed on State Department's Narcotics Rewards Program
Colombia drug smuggling organization ring wanted for cocaine trafficking, money laundering and kidnapping of an ICE agent

WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received approval to name ICE's most wanted fugitive, Luis Pena Pena, as a target of the Department of State's Narcotics Rewards Program. The Department of State has established a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the capture and/or arrest of Luis Pena Pena.

Pena Pena is suspected of leading a Medellin, Colombia based organization responsible for smuggling multi-ton quantities of cocaine from Colombia and Venezuela into the Caribbean, Puerto Rico and the United States. In December 2005 Pena Pena kidnapped an ICE Special Agent who had infiltrated Pena's organization in an undercover capacity.

In 2006 Pena Pena was indicted in the District of Puerto Rico for money laundering, drug smuggling and the kidnapping of the ICE agent. He is suspected to be in Colombia where he continues to traffic drugs and launder money.  ICE and international law enforcement partners continue to investigate his whereabouts.

Assistant United States Attorney Timothy Henwood is in charge of the prosecution.
