Direct Loan accounts have an associated Loan Type:

• Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized (Sub/Unsub) Loan: consists of loans made directly to a student.
• Direct PLUS Loan: consists of loans made directly to a parent of a dependent undergraduate student or to students enrolled in a graduate or professional program.
• Direct Consolidation Loan: consists of one or more federal education loans combined into a single loan.
