Why do I keep getting late notices when I sent in my deferment?

Late notices and calls from our loan counseling department will continue to occur until your account has been brought current. Do not ignore these notices. It is your responsibility to continue making payments on your account until the deferment is approved and applied. It could be possible that the Direct Loan Servicing Center never received your form. You will be notified by mail if your form was applied or rejected.

If you have mailed your form in and have not received a confirmation notice that it was applied or rejected within two to three weeks, you need to contact the Servicing Center to inquire about getting another form. You can also download a form from this Web site.
