About the Office: This position is located in the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), Office of Legal Programs and Policy, Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee/Victim-Witness (LECC/VW) Staff which is responsible for providing expertise, leadership, and management for the development and administration of comprehensive law enforcement coordination and Victim-Witness plans, programs, policies, and procedures for EOUSA and the 94 United States Attorneys Offices nationwide.

The office is ideally situated among three Metro stations (Gallery Place, Archives and Judiciary Square) one block from the Verizon Center, a short walk to the Smithsonian museums on the Mall, and is surrounded by numerous restaurants and shops. In addition, we offer creative work solutions in which we provide compressed work schedules and flexible work schedules, along with transit subsidy.

The Office of Legal Programs and Policy is a fast-paced component of the Department of Justice and provides a wide variety fo administrative, analytical, and legal work related to 94 Untied States Attorneys Offices (USAOs). Responsibilities and Opportunity Offered: The incumbent serves as the Assistant Director, Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee/Victim-Witness (LECC-VW) providing expertise, leadership, and management for the development and administration of comprehensive LECC and VW plans, programs, policies and procedures, and methods. Provides expert advice and assistance to United States Attorneys; the Director, EOUSA; the Counsel, Office of Legal Programs and Policy; and subject matter-specialists within the Department on the spectrum of LECC and VW matters; and provides financial management oversight of LECC and VW programs and initiatives.

Who May Apply: Permanent employees in the United States Attorneys’ Offices or EOUSA.

Qualifications: Required qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any jurisdiction), and have at least 10 years post-J.D. experience to qualify at the GS-15. Significant experience in public speaking and/or presentation skills are preferred. Have demonstrated capacity to function with minimal guidance, in a highly demanding environment.

Applicants must also have:
a) Ability to show interest in and commitment to issues affecting victims of crime.
b) Knowledge of programs, procedures, problems, and inter-relationships of federal, state, and local victim and witness organizations and the communities they serve.
c) Skill in assisting or working with victims of crime.

Evaluation Method: Qualified applicants may be further evaluated to determine those who are best qualified.

Salary Information: GS-15: $120,830 to $153,200 per annum (including locality pay).

Travel: Travel will be required.

Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses will not be authorized.
