What if I never received my PIN e-mail?
When you use the PIN site to apply for a PIN, change your PIN, or request a duplicate PIN, you can choose to receive your PIN by e-mail. This e-mail contains a link to our secure PIN delivery Web site where you can input your personal data and retrieve your PIN online.
The PIN e-mail message should be delivered to your inbox immediately. However, in some instances these e-mail messages are perceived as unsolicited mail and get directed into bulk mail or junk mail folders. If you do not receive your PIN e-mail message within 24 hours, check all folders in your account.
Some e-mail providers require that you add an e-mail address to your address book before you can receive any e-mail from that address. To ensure that our messages can be delivered to your inbox, enter our originating e-mail address, FederalStudentAidPIN@cpsemail.ed.gov, into your address book.
If you applied for your PIN less than 14 days ago and have not received the e-mail, you can retrieve your PIN by selecting Access My PIN E-mail from the list of options on the left side of the PIN Home Page.
Note: If you do not retrieve your PIN within 14 days, it will be mailed to you at the address you provided.
