In addition to accepting AmeriCorps educational vouchers, the SIT Graduate Institute offers many scholarships. These include:
The AmeriCorps ScholarshipThis scholarship honors the significant intercultural and professional contribution made by AmeriCorps volunteers. Volunteers who have completed one year (10 to 12 months) of service are eligible for the competitively-awarded $10,000 scholarship. The award is based on the type of work completed during service as well as the candidate's experience before and after work with AmeriCorps.
Community Service and Volunteer ScholarshipThis scholarship is awarded in recognition of work done with an organization engaged in community service. Recipients should have worked for one year or longer for organizations such as AmeriCorps.
SIT also has a Master's Community Development Program in partnership with AmeriCorps*VISTA. Students wishing to participate in the partnership apply to VISTA during SIT's on-campus phase (September to May). If they are accepted, their VISTA service will meet SIT's professional practicum requirement. In addition, qualified alumni of VISTA who wish to earn an SIT master's degree after the completion of their service are eligible for SIT scholarship opportunities. $1,000 is awarded to each enrolled AmeriCorps Alum.
