Operating Hours & Seasons

The Visitor Center at Spalding, Idaho, is open all year.
Winter Hours: January 5, 2009 to March 15, 2009 the visitor center will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
From March 16, 2009 to May 24, 2009 the visitor center will be open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

The Visitor Center at Big Hole National Battlefield in Wisdom, Montana is open all year. From Memorial Day to early September, the park is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. In the winter from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The visitor center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.

Bear Paw Battlefield is open year round from dawn to dusk. The Blaine County Museum in Chinook has exhibits and an audiovisual program on the battle at Bear Paw. In the summer the museum is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. They are closed for lunch from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. For the remainder of the year, it is open on weekdays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. They are closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.

Did You Know?
Camas, a relative of the lily family, has been gathered by the Nez Perce for generations. The bulbs are rich in protein and are still prepared and blessed according to traditional practices.
