International Wildlife Trade

The United States is one of the world's largest importers and exporters of wildlife (animals and plants) and their products.

The Service's International Wildlife Trade Program promotes a coordinated domestic and international strategy to protect, restore, and enhance the world's diverse wildlife and their habitats.

Our goal is to ensure that the international trade in listed animals and plants is legal, and will not adversely affect the biological status of the species in the wild.
