  Governor Corzine of New Jersey proclaims the week of May 9-16, 2009 as AmeriCorps Week.

4/28/2009 AmeriCorps Members Aid Illinois
  The Third Annual AmeriCorps Week (May 9-16) hopes to illustrate the continuing impact that AmeriCorps volunteers are having across America every day. There are over 2,300 AmeriCorps volunteers serving in Illinois this year, assisting at-risk youth, providing services for the homeless, building homes for low-income families, and assisting nonprofits in volunteer recruitment and achieving their vision.

  Governor Gregoire of Washington proclaims the week of May 9-16, 2009 as AmeriCorps Week.

1/15/2009 AmeriCorps Alums set to March in Inaugural Parade
  President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden's Inaugural Committee have invited AmeriCorps Alums and the Peace Corps Community to march in the 56th Inaugural Parade. Only 100 organizations were selected out of the 1,382 organizations that applied to participate.

5/19/2008 Nevada Volunteers Celebrates National AmeriCorps Week
  Nevada Volunteers' celebration of National AmeriCorps Week was held at the Governor's mansion on May 12, 2008 . The National Service Awards to the hard working AmeriCorps members, Vista , Senior Corps and Learn & Serve participants were the highlights of event. First Lady Dawn Gibbons also received an honorary AmeriCorps membership. Everyone in the room repeated the pledge each AmeriCorps member states when they begin their year of service ending with the phrase, "We are AmeriCorps, and we get things done!"

5/16/2008 Maine Celebrates AmeriCorps Week
  Maine’s celebration of AmeriCorps Week is underway, thanks to the coordination of the Maine Commission for Community Service.

5/14/2008 National AmeriCorps Week Service Project and Closing Ceremony to be Held in Miami
  Miami has been chosen as the national site for the closing ceremony of National AmeriCorps Week. Hundreds of AmeriCorps and National Service members will participate in an exciting “green” service project with the City of Miami on May 18, and will hear nationally renowned speakers at the largest National Service Rally in Florida’s history!

5/13/2008 AmeriCorps Week in Indiana
  Indiana this week will join the rest of the country in celebrating the service of AmeriCorps members during the 2nd Annual National AmeriCorps Week, May 11-18, 2008. During this time local communities will spotlight the vital work done by AmeriCorps members since the national service program began 15 years ago.
