BLM Nevada News Final Review for Lincoln County Water District Pipeline Project Reno, Nev.—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published a notice in the Federal Register on May 1, announcing the availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Lincoln County Land Act (LCLA) Groundwater Development and Utility Rights-of-Way Project for review and comment. The FEIS will be available for a 30-day review period following the publication of the Environmental Protection Agency Notice of Availability in the Federal Register which published concurrently with BLM’s notice. Any comments received by the BLM during the 30-day review period will be considered in the Record of Decision. The LCLA project is a proposal to develop and deliver groundwater to the Toquop Township tract just north of Mesquite, Nevada, as well as the proposed Toquop Power Plant. The FEIS analyzes the project, which is proposed by the Lincoln County Water District. The volume of water to be transported through the proposed facilities could be up to 24,000 acre-feet per year. The State Water Engineer is responsible for approving or denying water right applications. Copies of the FEIS are available from the BLM Nevada State Office by calling 775-861-6681, sending an e-mail request to nvgwprojects@blm.gov or by downloading from the internet at www.blm.gov/nv/. -BLM- |
