Upcoming Idaho Wild Horse Adoptions

Adoption Locations

  • Challis, Idaho - August 28-30 - Challis BLM Wild Horse Corrals
    Gentling demonstrations by Mike Seal of Salmon, Idaho
    Directions: Go 3 miles south of Challis to Hot Springs Rd. Turn left on Hot Springs Rd and follow road 2.8 miles.
    Hot Springs Rd. will veer left, continue travelling straight to the wild horse corrals, which are visible from the junction.
  • Boise, Idaho - September 11-13 - Boise BLM Wild Horse Corrals
    Gentling demonstrations by Mario Johnson of Georgetown, Idaho
    Directions: From I-84 - Exit on Orchard St. (Exit 52) and go south for approx. 1.7 miles, this turns into W. Gowen Rd.  Continue for 0.5 mile. Turn right (So.) on Pleasant Valley Rd. and go approx. 4 miles. Turn right at the Wild Horse Corrals.
  • Blackfoot, Idaho - September 18-20 (Exact location and details TBA.)
    Adoption Schedule for Ch allis and Boise Adoptions:
    Friday: Preview & Gentling Demonstration, 2 - 7pm
    Saturday: Preview, Gentling Demonstrations, and Adoption, 8am - 5pm
    Silent Bid adoption runs from 10 - 11am. First come, first served afterwards.
    Sunday: Adoption 8am - Noon. First come, first served.

Additional Information

  • 40-50 horses will be available at each adoption.
  • All horses gathered from the Challis HMA.
  • A buddy horse can be adopted for $25.00 after adopting a horse for $125.00.
