Proposed RMP/Final EIS Contents Page

The Draft Butte Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (Draft RMP/EIS) was released for a 120-day public comment period in summer 2007. The Draft RMP/EIS contents page contains the document, maps, and supplemental files.

After publication of the Draft RMP/EIS, the BLM hosted six “open house” style informational public meetings to answer questions and provide clarification on specific aspects of the Draft RMP/EIS. Public comment forms were available at the meetings. Public members who wished to comment on the Draft RMP/EIS were strongly encouraged to provide comments in writing. Meetings were held from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on the following dates/locations:

July 17, 2007- Helena, Chamber of Commerce Conference Room, 225 Cruse Avenue

July 18, 2007- Townsend, Townsend Public School Community Room, 201 N. Spruce Street

July 19, 2007- Butte, BLM Conference Room, 106 North Parkmont

July 23, 2007- Boulder, St. Catherine’s Catholic Church Community Room, 214 S. Elder

July 24, 2007- Divide, Divide Grange Hall (near school)

July 25, 2007- Bozeman, Bozeman Public Library, 626 East Main

The Proposed RMP/Final EIS has now been released, and the 30-day protest period began on September 26, 2008, and will end October 27, 2008. The Proposed RMP/Final EIS Contents page contains the document, maps revised since the Draft RMP/EIS, and supplemental files.

The printed document is three volumes of several hundred pages each, as well as a shrink-wrapped packet of oversized maps. There is a CD with supplemental information provided with each hard copy of the document. The entire document and supplemental information are available as Adobe PDF files on CD.
