Broadening Participation for Greater Diversity

 NSF has a strong commitment to broadening participation (http://www.nsf.gov/od/broadeningparticipation/bp.jsp).  Groups underrepresented in materials research include women, underrepresented minorities (African Americans, American Indians including Native Alaskans, Hispanics and Native Pacific Islanders), and persons with disabilities.
